Nottingham Congress, 2018
Fifty-one Yorkshire players were evident at the 43rd Nottingham Congress held on the weekend of 21-22 April, 2018, though somewhat curiously there seemed to be no Yorkshire players in the Intermediate section.
The Open section was won by recently-fledged IM Alan Merry, ahead of two GMs. Highest-placed Yorkshire player in the Open was Leo Keely, who picked up a grading prize. The only Yorkshire place-prize winner was Robert Clegg, who shared 1st & 2nd prizes in the Major. In the Minor, John Light of Limewood (Leeds) won a grading prize.
