Hi Everyone

Many congratulations on a magnificent effort in the ECF county championship finals day in winning the under 160's 9½‑6½ against Lancashire. It was an excellent team performance and I think I can safely say never in doubt!

Let me also say thank you very much to each one of you for all being so easy to organise and for being available. Also to the drivers and those like Adam who were on standby to play right up to Thursday.

What I haven't told everyone was that I had a good half dozen also available for the final so we have got people wanting to play for the County.

Finally commiserations to the first team. To lose their chance for immortality with a 4th consecutive title on board count was heart‑breaking.

It is our 5th U‑160 title since winning our first in 2006 so let's start planning on making it 6!

I finally trust that you all enjoyed it; playing alongside teammates who you normally try to beat up, and all emerging with the county championship title.

Very well done.

Rupert Jones
