Played on Saturday, 6th February 1886, at Chamber of Commerce Rooms, Bradford.
The match was played over the maximum of twenty boards. Play began at 4.10 p.m. Proceedings were adjourned for tea at 6.00 p.m., then resumed at 6.30 p.m., finally concluding at 9.30 p.m. when the four unfinished games were adjudicated. On five boards there was insufficient time for the second game.
