28/03/2018 Yorkshire League Defaults on 24/03/2018
When the Sheffield B and Bradford Central teams arrived at Sheffield’s venue, Woodseats Working Men’s Club, the premises were closed. It transpired that the club had recently decided it would not in future open on Saturdays until 4.00 p.m., but had neglected to tell those who needed to know. Sheffield A, C and D all have one further home match this season, so there are further problem there.
Meanwhile, Sheffield D had not been able to find enough car-drivers for their match against Harrogate B. (Had Sheffield B’s problems been known in advance, then transport would have been freed up for the D team!)
Back in the Woodhouse, Bradford apparently had player-availability problems, some being okay had they had a home match but unable to make an away match due to commitments later in the day. So, Bradford A had to concede as well.
(Based on information received from the Competition Controller.)
