Though planned to be over 100 boards, there were in fact 108 boards being played, though on those there were a few defaults. The players named as defaulting in the official results are not named here as they may not be any way personally at fault, there being various possible reasons why they did not or could not play. There are not a lot of Yorkshire players evident.

The overall score was 60½-46½ in favour of the “North”, with one result apparently unknown at the time of reporting. Games were grouped in ten 10-board “matches” and one 8-board match with the weakest players in it. The team names reflect the overall board number of top board in the match in question, broadly in order of strength, except that board one was a “captains’ board”. If we take the top 100 boards as the North v South match proper, and exclude the bottom 8-board match, the ne the score was 54½-42½ to the “North” with one game result outstanding.
