Two
“Megafinals” in the Delancey UK Schools’
Chess Challenge were scheduled to take place in Yorkshire in 2018.
The
South Yorkshire Megafinal took place on Saturday 21/04/2018, at Stradbrooke
Community Centre, Richmond Road, Stradbrooke, Sheffield, S13 8LT, which is
the club venue of Darnall & Handsworth Chess Club, under the direction of
Phill Beckett.
There
were two sections, each combining a range of age groups. Boy and girl
winners in an age group are designed “Supremo” and “Suprema” respectively,
and others can qualify with them to precede to the “Gigafinal” (the ultimate
national final stage).
