ECF Inter‑County under‑18 Team Competition held on Sunday 25/02/2018 at Kings School, Brook Street, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG31 6RP
The Major team event, over 12 boards, was won by Kent, with Sussex being runners-up.
Yorkshire entered a 6-board team (photo below) in the Minor competition for players aged under 18 and with gradings below 130. This was run as a 2-round 6-t3eam jamboree, with each player having 55 minutes on the clock with 5-second increments per move.
The joint team captains were Noel Stewart (far left in photo), who is YCA Secretary for Junior Chess, and Peter Cloudsdale (towards right in photo), both of York Chess.
