Hull Online Chess Congress and Online Simultaneous Exhibition

Stephen Greep writes:

Our Congress (joint with 4NCL) has just been advertised and people can enter via the 4NCL web site (http://www.4ncl.co.uk/ ).

Our 2019 Congress won the ECF Congress of the Year Award.  For 2021 we have moved online, please support our efforts and come and play.  This is a screen shot from the 4NCL web site:

(Click on the above image to go to the actual website.)

Just as with our congress last year, we’ve tried to make it a little different – there are 2 hours coaching with GM Danny Gormally available for section winners (or a trophy) and there will be live commentary by Danny in every round (two hours per round; details not yet advertised).  He is also doing a simul on the Wednesday before the Congress (25, drawn by lot).  It is free to enter the simul, but you must be playing in the congress.

However, what is not advertised on the 4NCL website is that there is a further simul against GM Danny Gormally on the Thursday (29th October) evening, 19.30.  This is also free to enter.  It is for local players, but we are happy to extend an invitation to other players around Yorkshire for as long as there are places available.  If you wish to take part in this simultaneous, which is taking place on the lichess platform, all you need to do is email Stephen Greep at sjgreep@gmail.com together with your lichess user name.
