15/01/2020 Chess in Schools and Communities
Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC) is a UK charity which aims to improve children’s educational outcomes and social development by introducing them to the game of chess. CSC also runs a growing network of chess clubs in libraries.
Children are taught by one of CSC’s trained tutors, who all have Enhanced DBS clearance, progressing over 30 weeks from the rules of the game to foundational tactics and strategy.
Staff are offered free places on tutor training courses, enabling them to lead the lessons, and use the CSC curriculum.
