Durham Congress 2020, incorporating the 2020 Northern Counties Championships

Mike Riding, organiser of the Durham Congress to held from 1st to 3rd May 2020, which incorporates the 2020 Northern Counties Championships, has asked for the event to be advertised around the Northern Counties as follows:

Today I am inviting you to enter the 2020 Durham County CA Congress.

This is a weekend congress commencing May 1 at 7p.m. and concluding May 3.  There are Open, Major and Minor tournaments. The Open includes a British Championship qualifying place for the highest placed Northern Counties player as well as the NCCU Open, Senior and Junior trophies.

Prize money is guaranteed as advertised and may increase, pending sponsorship.

Venue is the excellent Kings Hotel (Mercure) Darlington.  Special rates are available to competitors,

Darlington itself boasts a wide range of alternative accommodations.  It is very accessible by train, bus or car.  Hence the choice of location.

The Congress website address is https://durhamchesscongress.co.uk/.  It includes more detail and supports online entry or a printable form if you prefer.

It is our sincere intention that this weekender is a major success and will thereafter occupy a regular place on the ECF calendar and in your diary.  I hope you can support this ambition by entering, enjoying and in 2021 - returning.

Many thanks - Mick (Organiser)
