Congratulations Mike! Mike, of Wakefield, was one of the four people recommended by the ECF Awards Committee to receive a 2018 ECF President’s Award for Services to Chess.  Mike has been prominent in Yorkshire chess as a player for as long as anyone can remember, just about, but it is primarily for his work over the years as a coach to junior players, most notably at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield (aka QEGS) that his services have been recognised.  Denis Michael Denison, to give him his full name, has now passed his 81st birthday.
