Another successful season for Yorkshire in many competitions:
1. In the Inter Counties Yorkshire A and B both compete in the Ward Higgs (top division) Yorkshire A will be close to winning and the B team are likely to stay in Division 1 https://www.iccf.com/event?id=71174. The third team are currently mid table the Sinclair Shield (division 2) https://www.iccf.com/event?id=71215. The fourth team have finished mid-table in the Butler Thomas https://www.iccf.com/event?id=71262 2. In the British Team Championship we are currently in eighth position with lots of games still to go https://www.iccf.com/event?id=71741 3. In the British Correspondence League we currently lead the Championship Division https://www.iccf.com/event?id=72365 the second team are mid table in Division 1 https://www.iccf.com/event?id=72393 4. In the Scottish League the first team finished next to bottom in Division 1 https://www.iccf.com/event?id=72939. The second team are fifth in Division 2 https://www.iccf.com/event?id=72944. The third team are fifth in Division 3 https://www.iccf.com/event?id=72949 5. Yorkshire entered two teams in the World Regional Championship the standard is very high and the first team are in Division 2 and early results place us in seventh https://www.iccf.com/event?id=72585 but there are still many games to go. The second team are in Division 3 and are struggling against some stern opposition https://www.iccf.com/event?id=72586 6.
We have
a series of friendly matches; we trail by 3 points to Australia (NSW) https://www.iccf.com/event?id=65793,

likewise we are trailing USA by 4 points but with still many results

In the internal team championship, the Avison Shield, https://www.iccf.com/event?id=72595 the position at the top is tense with last year's winners, Yorkshire Puddings, likely to clinch the title soon! 8. The Kitchin Memorial was won by Dave Grobler https://www.iccf.com/event?id=71121 with the qualifiers being tightly contested https://www.iccf.com/event?id=71601 9. In recognition of the contribution of Dave Milton who sadly passed away recently a Memorial Event has been arranged https://www.iccf.com/event?id=73322. Fifteen Yorkshire players are contesting this event in tribute to Dave. 10. We are always looking for players and arrange events to suit all abilities! Phill Beckett |
