The first two rounds of the 2019-20 Four Nations Chess League (4NCL) took place over the weekend of 09th & 10th November 2019, though only for sub-divisions of Divisions 3 and 4. What would have been the first weekend of Divisions 1 and 2 takes place between weeks 3 and 4. (Presumably a venue-finding problem disturbed the smooth flowing of events.)

Division 3N played at the Holiday Inn Doncaster, High Road, Warmsworth, Doncaster, DN4 9UX.

The captain of this new team is Douglas Vleeshhouwer, and the Dutch connection with the team name is self-evident, while keen crossword solvers will immediately notice the letters of “Euwe” are present in “Vleeshhouwer”. Interestingly, this team fielded in total 11 players in the two six-board matches.

First-named team in each match had White on 1, thereafter alternating colours down the team.
