30/01/2026 Notice of NCCU Council Meeting to be held on Sunday 22nd February by Zoom
The writer as (acting) NCCU Secretary was asked on 29/01/2026 to call an NCCU Council meeting, as above, and accordingly sent out the following e-mail shortly prior to going on holiday for a week. From what I am told, the meeting will be timed after the Doncaster Congress where the last round is scheduled to finish at 5.35 p.m. I suspect the President will stop off en route to Newcastle, but at present I have no start time and myself will soon be out of e-mail and internet contact in Scotland. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ All, For one reason or another, the NCCU “December” Council Meeting got pushed into January and then looked like being pushed into February, and by 29th of January a number of NCCU officials felt it best to just forget this meeting. However, Tim Wall as President has requested that we press on with a “December” meeting in February. So, I hereby give notice of an NCCU “December” Council Meeting to be held on Sunday 22nd February, by Zoom. Would recipients please communicate as necessary with others from their counties to decide who if anyone they can send to the meeting, remembering that each county is entitled to two representatives at the meeting (in addition to any NCCU officials from their county). Fuller details, the agenda and supporting papers will have to be drawn up and published later, but as soon as possible. This is to include an update on matters such as the person nominated to take office as the new President at the 2026 NCCU AGM, and the nomination for the 2026 NCCU School Award. You may of course submit to me any agenda item you’d like me to consider including alongside the usual items at December Meetings. Please note I myself will be out of e-mail or telephone contact from 2nd to 6th in Scotland, so don’t hold your breath! There has been a complaint regarding e-mails flying about, to and fro, with numerous people openly CC’d rather than BCC’d (blind CC’d), with extra people being added in without their permission for their e-mail addresses to be so published. Accordingly, for this communication I am here adopting the practice of some other organisations of using BCC. This e-mail has been sent to the following:
Thanking you in anticipation of your cooperation, Steve Mann, (acting) NCCU Secretary
