George Horne, NCCU Treasurer amongst other things, died in Furness General Hospital Barrow-in-Furness on 20/05/2024 after a bout of pneumonia from which he appeared to be recovering before a relapse. He was born in Barrow-in-Furness at a time when it was part of “the Furness district of Lancashire” as it was referred to in weather forecasts. A touching tribute has been posted by Dave Cole on the Cumbria CA website here which is the source of the following photograph and the game which follows.
