Bowen Education is a Manchester-based Chinese language education and cultural organisation. Amongst other things is has a chess club. The first Bowen-sponsored Rapidplay was reported on this website here. This year’s event was held on Saturday 28th of March 2026, at St Mary Magdalene with Sale West Community Church, 44 Moss Lane, Sale M33 6GD. The number of rounds was reduced from last year’s 6 to just 5.

Entries were 10% down on last year, from 83 to 74, which might in part have been due to more events on the same date than last year.

The Tournament director was Catherine Zhu, with ECF Arbiter Sacha Torregrosa-McGough of Manchester serving as Chief Arbiter.

At the original time of posting this webpage, round 5 of the Minor section had not been recorded on the Chess-Results.com website. This proved to have been due to an oversight by the organisers, and things got remedied after a tip-off from this webmaster!
