NCCU Under 1850 County Championships

Yorkshire versus Cumbria in the NCCU Under-1850 Championship was played on Sunday 28th January 2024 at Barnard Castle Cricket Club, Vere Rd, Barnard Castle, Co, Durham, DL12 8AE.  The plan was that Rupert Jones, as non-playing Yorkshire captain at the match, would relay game results, as they came in, to Steve Westmoreland who, at home, would enter them into the ECF LMS website, and in due course results did indeed start to appear!

The two teams’ quoted average ratings were Yorkshire 1722, and Cumbria 1668, which by a dubious rule of thumb predicts a final score of about 7-5 or 6˝-4˝.  (Ratings quoted on LMS are often not those actually current ones.)

By 14.22, 6 games had come in and the score stood at 5-1 in Yorkshire’s favour.  By 16.33 the score was 8-3, with just one result left unreported.
