As can be seen above, the two England teams are not in a position to pick up any medals.  India seems to be emerging as the top chess nation, if the Olympiad is a valid measure of such things, hotly pursued by China and the USA.

 

England Open team lost to closely match France.  Luke McShane was last to finish, trying to squeeze a win from an ending of K + N +2P versus K+ N + P, but good do no better than draw as originally recorded, but that got changed to a win!  Papua New Guinea performed well against a nominally stronger Eritrea team.  England Women came unstuck against a nominally weaker Uzbekistan t Papua New Guinea team.
