This will be of little interest to most people. Those few old enough to remember are aware that in the past the Sheffield & DCA ran an inter-school league with two divisions incorporating teams ranging geographically from Ecclesfield in the north to Dronfield (Derbyshire) in the south. The A team of King Edward VII Grammer School, Sheffield, was particularly successful, not just locally, but nationally, and a decision was made to document this aspect of Sheffield’s chess history.
