09/10/2022 NCCU AGM 2022 - Five Outcomes
The minutes will be published when available, but, in the meantime, people may be interested to know:
1) Manchester Chess Federation (playing as Greater Manchester) was accepted into membership;
2) This website (http://mannchess.org.uk/NCCU.htm) became a new NCCU website with hopes of it being used more that earlier versions;
3) The Doncaster 2023 is to host the 2022-23 NCCU Individual Championships (inc. Junior and Senior);
4) The latest Counties Championships Rules were formally approved;
5) Officers were elected as shown here. However . . .
It is important to note that Dave Cole is (understandably) reluctant to continue as secretary, having been the mainstay of the NCCU for many years, but having had health problems to deal with recently. He would be happy to hand over the reins mid-term in 2022-23 (e.g. now!). So, get your thinking caps on, or better still volunteer. Nobody is really good enough to step into his shoes, but you can pad them with newspaper to make them fit.
