1)
Competitions for the annual NCCU
Individual Championships are as follows:
Normally
the top three (over-the-board) ones are hosted at a weekend congress of not less than five rounds,
organised by a county affiliated to the NCCU.
(See
table to right for recent congresses hosting the championships.)
Alphabetical
rotation normally determines to
which county the option falls in a given year, though sometimes a county
will “pass”, and sometimes variations are agreed for one reason or another. The Individual Championships were not run in
2019-20 or 2021-22 due to Covid.
Rules for the above competitions are to be found here.
Winners from previous years are archived here.

2) NCCU Individual Junior Age-Group Championships (now defunct)
Over the weekend 24th-25th August 2000, an inaugural
NCCU Individual Junior Championship event was held for age groups U-8, U9,
U-10, U-11, U-12, U-13, U-14, U-16 and U-18. These junior championships
seem to have lapsed after 2008, and were acknowledged to be defunct at the
2010 NCCU AGM, though the Boys Under-18 has continued, as mentioned above,
embedded within a congress which is not specifically a junior one.
