The correspondence
chess season rarely finishes before the o-t-b season starts, so reporting
gets a year behind. In 2016/17 Yorkshire did less well in Division 1 of
the inter-county team championships for the Ward-Higgs Trophy, which was won
by new team West Wales A. Surrey A edged ahead of Yorkshire on
tie-breaking win total.

the International Correspondence Chess Federation’s web server. (There
are still some competitions for those who prefer to play correspondence chess
by post.) Two games are played with the opponent, one with each
