Played at the Imperial Hotel, Huddersfield, on Saturday 24/01/1903, over 15 boards.
The North Manchester board 11 was the former Hull Woodhouse Cup player Edward William McBride, a nephew of Samuel Standidge Boden.
After the match the players took tea together. John Watkinson, as president of Huddersfield Chess Club, proposed the health of the visitors, and H. W. Riley responded, as president of North Manchester Chess Club.
The match was reported in the Sheffield Daily Telegraph of 26/01/1903.
