Where to Stay Relatively Near the Congress Venue
Many congress players commute rather than stay the night away from home. Those who seek overnight accommodation seem to find it by their own means. Sheffield Council seems not to maintain any sort of relevant accommodation list. So, below are some ideas. The prices are what seem to be rough ball-park minimum figures, but are no way guaranteed. Remember, some prices exclude breakfast. All is gleaned from the internet which is not always to be relied on.
The Rutland Hotel is on the other side of Glossop Road from the congress venue, so must be first choice from the point of view if proximity.
The Corner House on Westbourne Road (for which road see Amenities map) is also in walking distance.
Etruria House Hotel up Crookes Road from Broomhill shops looks 3rd best in terms of distance from the venue.
Jonas Hotel is a bit of a hike away. Go down to the bottom of Newbould Lane, turn right along Clarkhouse Road and go to the end at the top of Brocco Bank. Turn left down Brocco Bank and almost immediately take the first right along Endcliffe Crescent.
Hardwick House is too far away to give directions, being the other side of Hunter’s Bar.
The easyHotel, Travelodge and Ibis Budget are in the city centre.
Russell Scott Backpackers Hostel is well away from the venue.
Good luck!
