Withdrawal of SASCA C from Division 2

SASCA C has been experiencing problems which have been discussed by SASCA and members of the S&DCA Executive, and Jonathan Arnott has announced the following.

"After consultation with the Executive, SASCA C has sadly taken the decision to withdraw from Division 2.

Oddly, whilst we have comfortably enough players to field four teams, a lot of our players are not available all of the time, and fielding both B and C teams in the same division given the restrictions on sharing players has proven to be impossible.  Nor do we feel it's fair (either to our juniors or opposing teams) for us to field complete beginners in Division 2 on a regular basis.

We are generally happy to play a friendly rated game on the same date as the fixtures, for any team which wants us to, so that your players still have a game.  Absent registration restrictions, fielding a team should be much more straightforward."

This means that SASCA C’s remaining matches are being conceded, which in turn means SASCA C will not have fulfilled at least half its league fixtures, which in turn means that  the results of all its league matches shall be cancelled under the provisions of Rule 22(c).

The Executive has agreed such friendlies as are played in lieu of league fixtures as Jonathan describes can be ECF-rated,  Of course, for such rated matches the same ECF membership requirements as for league matches apply.
