Barnsley Chess Club has been told that as from 01/11/2025 their venue, Locke Park Club & Institute, will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the two nights when the club has hitherto played its matches!

Consequently, BARNSLEY A TEAM, B TEAM, C TEAM, and D TEAM matches in the Sheffield League (also its Doncaster League matches) are to be played at the same venue but on MONDAYS.

Relevant dates may in time to be adjusted on LMS, but meanwhile visiting teams need to REMEMBER from 1st November, until further notice, to adjust the day of all matches away to Barnsley to the MONDAY of the week concerned.

Barnsley Chess Club hopes to find a new venue which will allow reversion to Tuesday and Wednesday match nights as before.
