The 6th-and-final round is to take place on 29/04/2026.  The current joint leaders, Alexandr Klimchik and Seth Woozeer who are both on 4½ out of 5, played each other in round 4, so will both have to float down in the final round to the next-lower score group, which consists of Robert Starley and Jamie Woodhouse, both on 4 out of 5.  All four are theoretically in with a chance of first place.

Should there be a tie for first place, then the rules provide that tie-break systems will be applied in the following order: (i) Direct Encounter (where the tie-break is required to separate only two players on the same score) (ii) Buchholz Cut 1 (iii) Buchholz (iv) Sonneborn-Berger.

Those now on 3½ points or less are out of contention for the Sheffield Championship and tenure of the Bruce Trophy, but some will have enough points to be in contention for the Holroyd Trophy or the Shapero Trophy in accordance with the pre-event seeding.
