The White Rose teams in the 4NCL used to be covered by the now mainly discontinued Yorkshire Chess News Website. As Jonathan Arnott is the captain/manager of the White Rose teams, having taken over the lead from Rupert Jones last season, and as White Rose 2 looks significantly Sheffield-centric, it seemed a good idea to cover the 4NCL White Rose teams on the S&DCA website.

The new season started on 18th-19th October for Divisions 3 Knights and 4, but as the White Rose 3 team of last season has been dropped, that did not involve White Rose. For Divisions 1 and 2, the season started on 1st-2nd November with rounds 1 and 2 being held at the Copthorne Hotel in the Merry Hill suburb of Brierley Hill which is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands.

It appears 4NCL White Rose is no longer sponsored by Chessable, as it was called Chessable White Rose last season but is now just White Rose.

The 4NCL rules require that in Division 1 each team must include at least 1 male player and at least 1 female player, and that in Division 2 each team must include at least one player from at least two of the categories male, female, and junior. (“Junior” means born on or after 01/09/2007, broadly under 18 at the start of the season.) In the match results below, “wm” denotes a female as does a FIDE title including “W”, and “jun” denotes a junior.
