25/03/2023 County Matches Scheduled for 25/03/2023
The final two matches for 2022-23 were scheduled for Saturday 25/03/2023. Yorkshire was away to Cleveland in the Under-2050 section while Merseyside was away to Greater Manchester in the Under-1850 section.
The Under-2050 match was won by Yorkshire as below, which would seem to leave Yorkshire as section winners with Northumberland runners up.
Unfortunately, Merseyside captain Sanjoy Banerjee decided regretfully that Merseyside would have to default their match, since he couldn't get a team together in time. We all know it can be a difficult task. That would seem to leave Yorkshire as section winners with Greater Manchester second. (Even if Merseyside had played and hammered Greater Manchester 12-0 - okay, unlikely - then it seems GM would still have come second by finishing ahead of Cumbria on game points.)
