1882: Leeds v Rotherham |

Played at Leeds Chess Club, on Saturday, 04/02/1882, over 8 boards, two games per board.
The Rotherham team was due to play a Leeds team drawn from its “B Division”. In the event, two Leeds players failed to show up, so E. B. Hussey (of the A division) stepped in, taking on two Doncaster opponents. The result of the first round was a draw, but Leeds forged ahead in the second.

After the match the players took tea together, under the presidency of Samuel Taylor of Leeds Chess Club.
