YORKSHIRE LEAGUE 2021-22 - ENTRIES NEEDED

Andrew Zigmond has sent out the following e-mail to relevant parties, requesting entries for the 2021-22 (over-the-board) league, to be submitted by 31st July, please.

Dear All

In April I initiated a consultation about how the Yorkshire League could restart in the Autumn.  If I've been slightly slow in following this up it's due to changes at work that have taken up a lot of my time, and also we now have a clearer idea as to how the government is planning to exit the pandemic.

I WOULD NOW LIKE TO INVITE ENTRIES FOR THE NEW SEASON, BEGINNING IN OCTOBER

For that reason I would like to ask clubs to provide the following information;

1, How many teams they wish to enter?

2, For clubs looking to drop teams, which division they wish to drop a team from?

As ever the YCA has the authority to move teams between divisions in order to adjust division sizes.  My personal expectation is that the IM Brown will contract slightly, at least in the short term.  I also appreciate that it may be hard for some clubs to gauge interest at this stage; it may be possible to admit late entries and indeed the rules allow the YCA to do this.

The league will operate according to whatever regulations are in force at the time.  The question of whether face masks should be worn will be an emotive and divisive one; however if these are not required by law I don't think it is for the YCA (or anybody else) to insist upon them.  Ultimately everybody will have differing views and there is no way I could achieve a consensus.

PLEASE COULD I HAVE ALL ENTRIES BY 31ST JULY SO THAT A FIXTURE LIST CAN FOLLOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTERWARDS.

A couple of other points;

1, Following on from my above comment about masks it may well be that there are players who would play subject to masks and other restrictions being in place.  If a club has sufficient players in this category to make up a team please let me know - it may be possible to have a separate "Covid safe" league.  As ever maximising participation is the main reason I do this role.

2, A handful of clubs have not responded to recent communications so if I haven't heard anything by the cut-off date I will assume that these clubs do not wish to enter the league.
