European Individual Chess Championship 2021, Round 8
Top board saw a clash between the two players in the joint lead on 6 out of 7, Rauf Mamedov v Anton Demchenko. Round 6 had seen a top-board draw in 9 moves, but in the 8th round the players broke through the 10-move barrier and managed to get as far as White’s twelfth move before a draw was agreed.
