Died

“A. Shepherd” of Wakefield attended the second YCA meeting, in November, 1841, and the YCA meeting of 1843.  On each occasion Edward Shepherd of Wakefield was present.  He attended the Nottingham Chess Club meeting of 1844, as did Edward Shepherd.

This A. Shepherd can only have been Arthur Shepherd, son of the much more famous Edward Shepherd, q.v. for more family detail.
