The following group photograph appeared in the American Chess Magazine of 1898 (page 116).  It includes 17 of the 19 contestants, along with two of the organisers, Schwarz and Fahndrich:

Of the players, Trenchard and Walbrodt are missing from the photograph.  Yorkshire-born Amos Burn is the weedy-looking individual at the far right of the back row.
