The Way of the Chess Manager is Not A Happy One The American Chess Magazine of 1898 printed on page 208 the above cartoon in which the figure at front left is former Bradfordian Hartwig Cassell.  The figure at front right is William Borsodi, the publisher (not editor) of the American Chess Magazine.  The horse on the right bears the legend “American Chess Magazine”.  The lance of the rider on the left seems to bear a name starting “J. R.” (not Capablanca!)
