This “friendly”
match was played over 36 boards on 21(probably)/04/1951 at the Mansion House,
Doncaster. The Yorkshire team was very far from being a full-strength
county side, but the result was a more than comfortable win for Yorkshire,
the score being 24-10 in Yorkshire’s favour at the close of play, with 2
unfinished games (marked @) being sent for adjudication. (Finding
adjudication results is often nigh impossible.)
Lincolnshire held
to an equal score over the top seven boards, but strength in depth, as is so
often the case, was what determined the match result. Game results at
