For the 1893-94 season,
the Sheffield District Chess Association decided to withdraw from the
Woodhouse Cup. Balancing this, numerically if not in strength,
Huddersfield entered once again. Leeds Draughts & Chess Club
returned to the Bradford Observer Trophy, and were replaced by the 1892-93
winners of that Minor Trophy competition, namely Heckmondwike.
Fixtures were as
follows:
* played a week early by mutual agreement of the clubs
concerned.

match details are taken mainly from the Leeds Mercury Weekly Supplement
(5th-round matches not yet to hand).
