1892: Blackburne in Leeds |

Joseph Henry Blackburne visited Leeds Chess club on 28/02/1892, and gave a simultaneous display against 15 opponents, who contested 16 games in all – so presumably one person played two games, perhaps having lost the first game soon after the start.
Play took place, uninterrupted, from 7.45 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. At the end of play, “two or three” games remained unfinished, and the results were presumably agreed between Blackburne and his opponents.

Of those who drew, Blackburne complimented F. E. Spedding and J. Jonas on their play, conceding that at no stage had he developed any advantage in those games.
