Played at Ilkley,
on Saturday 11/03/1882,
over 11 boards,
2 games per board (time permitting).
This was the
return match between Ilkley Liberal Chess Club and Rawdon Church Institute
Chess Club. For this match the teams played over 11 boards rather than
the 8 of the previous match, but otherwise the pools of players were much the
same as before. Ilkley reasserted its superiority, winning by a similar
margin as before.
The way the
results were recorded in the Chess Player’s Chronicle, 1882,
p.108, failed to distinguish between a win a–piece, and two draws.
