The Ward grave in Sheffield’s Crookes Cemetery is in a dilapidated state. The cross no longer surmounts its plinth.
The kerb stones have largely fallen out of place, and the Haythornthwaite memorial plaques have been dislodged.
The main inscription is nevertheless legible:
