In the churchyard of All Saints, Bramham, North Yorkshire, are of the graves of a number of relatives of chess-player Robert Bownas Wormald.  Below are some of the inscriptions thereon.

 

Inscription on the grave of Elizabeth Wormald,

mother of the chess-player Robert Bownas Wormald.

 

Inscription on the grave of Robert Bownas Wormald,

earlier-born brother and namesake of the chess-player Robert Bownas Wormald.

 

Upper part of inscription on the Kell grave, recording the decease in

infancy of a sister, Emily, of the wife of Robert Bowness Wormald.

 

Lower part of inscription on the Kell grave, recording the death

of Thomas Kell, the father-in-law of Robert Bowness Wormald.

 

Also evident at all Saints Bramham are the graves of Robert Bowness Wormald’s uncles, on his mother’s side, Robert Hall Bownas and Samuel Bownas.
