The burial register for the consecrated section of Holbeck Cemetery, Beeston Hill, Leeds (microfilm, Leeds City Library), records the burial of 74-year-old Thomas Young Stokoe, tailor, of Northcote Street, Hunslet, in plot 11398 of Holbeck Cemetery, Beeston Hill, Leeds.  The Register of Vaults and Graves in the Holbeck Burial Ground (consecrated portion), held at Lawnswood Cemetery Leeds, listed plot 11398 as owned by Mary Douglas Clarke, a married daughter, and lists successive interments in the grave as follows (putting “Clarke” for “Clark” throughout):

12/01/1904 - George Francis Clarke (son-in-law of T.Y.S.)

04/07/1905 - Thomas Young Stokoe

07/05/1908 - Arthur Stokoe Clarke (grandson of T.Y.S.)

08/02/1911 - Arthur Clarke (grandson of T.Y.S.)

13/10/1911 - Leslie Stokoe Clarke

Only Thomas Young Stokoe and his grandson Arthur Stokoe Clark are named on the headstone, which is small, being only 35½” wide at the base, and 25½” tall.  It now lies flat on its back in an area were children climb over the low cemetery wall, making the graves susceptible to damage.  Recent chips out of the above stone are evident, and it will presumably suffer progressive damage with time.  The majority of graves in the immediate area lack any headstone, presumably due to damage in the past.  Two lie face down.  Other parts of the cemetery are in better condition.
