Headstone of Joseph Haslegrave.

 

Headstone of father John Haslegrave.

 

The inscription on the older headstone, lying flat before the above two upright ones, with an inscription in part repeating that on the the above headstone, reads as follows:

 

Here

lieth interred the

Body of John Haslegrave of

Kippax, who departed this

Life the 16th of May 1803,

Aged 76 Years;

Also of John Haslegrave, of

New-miller-dam, Son of the

above John Haslegrave,who

died the 11th of August 1807,

Aged 53 Years.

Also of Elizabeth Haslegrave,

Wife of the above John

Haslegrave Junior, who

departed this life the 8th of

May 1827, Aged 76 Years.

SACRED

to the Memory of

John, younger son of

John and Mary Haslegrave,

of Chapelthorpe,

and Grandson of the above,

who died the 18th day of December

1862, Aged 21 Years.
