Played at Wesley College, Glossop Road, Sheffield

on Saturday, 15/04/1882,

over 7 boards, 2 games per board.

 

This was the last of four matches played by Wesley College during the season, and they maintained their undefeated record.  The players were entertained to tea by the governor of the college, Mr. Dallenger.  This match was also of some interest as one in which chess-clock pioneer Thomas Bright Wilson played for his brother’s local club, Penistone.
