Played at Bradford,

on Saturday 25/02/1860,

over 5 boards, up to 3 games per board.

Having beaten Bradford 9½-4½ on 03/12/1859, at Settle, the same Settle players travelled to Bradford for a return match on 25/02/1860.

At each board three games were played.  The results were as follows (colours etc unknown).  The match was reported in the Leeds Mercury of 01/03/1860:

Slater's Commercial Directory of Durham, Northumberland & Yorkshire, 1855, listed

John Armistead, linen and woollen draper, Settle,

John Birkbeck, Esq., Giggleswick (under gentry etc)

It also listed William Thomas Burrow, surgeon, Settle, whose seems likely to be connected with J.H. Burrow.
