21/10/2024 Calderdale v Kirklees
Back in January, an outdoor match was played between Calderdale and Kirklees, as reported on this site here. Steve Westmoreland reports that it is the aim to make this an annual event and that plans are afoot to organise the second such event.
Potential players are exhorted by Steve to let the appropriate captain, Dave Colledge for Calderdale or Steve himself for Kirklees, know of their interest in due course.
By chance, today is Steve Westmoreland’s birthday. He had asked his family for a present of a chair to go with his chess practice table, set and board. So, instead of reproducing the photographs from the previous Calderdale-Kirklees match which Steve re-sent in connection with the previous two sentences (all photos available via the above link), there follows a photograph of the said chair.
