Yorkshire League - end of season and looking forward

YCA Competitions Controller Andrew Zigmond has sent the following by e-mail to captains.

Dear All

The Yorkshire League has now almost concluded for 2023-24.  I say almost because as some of you will be aware there is an absolute dead heat for the second relegation slot in the Woodhouse Cup (oddly enough the second time in five years this has happened).  However, I am able to confirm the following results:

WOODHOUSE CUP Hull & East Riding B champions,

IM BROWN Rose Forgrove A champions Hull & East Riding B promoted,

SILVER ROOK Doncaster champions Ilkley Knights promoted.

It goes without saying that this has not been the smoothest season the Yorkshire League has ever had and there will be a lot to review and unpick as we start to look ahead to the AGM and the 2024-25 season.  I'm sure that all captains and players appreciate that I do this role as a volunteer and therefore essential communications will come out as soon as I can get the necessary work done.

However, this email is to ask for the following:

  1. please could all captains of promoted teams advise me as to whether or not they wish to accept promotion.  I will assume yes if no response is received.
  2. please could I be advised of any new entries or withdrawals no later than 31st MAY (this deadline is set in the rules).
