So, a lot still to play for in the final round. I'm
aiming to arrange this for late January - giving time to regroup
after the holiday period and also dodging the 4NCL Online Congress on 15-17
January. I'll publish the exact date and the pairings shortly.
Some people have queried why the event is only three rounds.
I am planning a further event in the New Year (again watch this space).
I'm following the lead of the excellent Rotherham Online Tournament which
is operating as a series of short "seasons", thus allowing new
players to join in all the time. It also cuts the number of one-sided matches
but my main reason for not doing a full all-play-all is that seven rounds
would take until March to play out and there is the possibility that better
weather and/ or a relaxing of restrictions in Spring might lead to greatly
diminished interest in the last few rounds.
Finally, can I wish everybody all the best for what will be a
very challenging Christmas.
