It hardly provides the same “experience” as a “real” chess congress, but a trailblazing on-line chess congress, which is organisationally not that different from an o-t-b congress or a series of on-line team matches, is being held by the 4NCL on the weekend of Friday to Sunday, 10th to 12th July. Arrangements are almost indistinguishable from those of a weekend congress, even with the 1st round staring at 7.00 p.m., allowing for those actively in work the necessary time to get home and have their evening meal first. Will players be able to review the equivalent of wall-charts on line, during progress of the event?

The lack of any need for the organisers to pay for room hire means the entry fee is just £5! (All sections)
