Richard Palliser to Take on Juniors in Simultaneous Display

Ben Rich announces in an e-mail:

Opportunity to play an International Chess Master: Invitation Only

I am delighted to say that Richard Palliser, an International Chess Master, chess writer and one of the top players in England, has generously agreed to play a simultaneous chess match against some of the best junior players, in York on Tuesday 5th March.

The match will take place in the Railway Institute at 6pm in place of the usual Tuesday chess club.  As numbers are limited please email me if you would like to play - places are on a first come first served basis.

All players will be strongly encouraged to keep a record of the moves and if there is time Richard will play through a couple of the most interesting games at the end of the night.  If they need help with chess notation we can help the children practice over the next few weeks at the Tuesday club.

I do hope as many of your children as possible will participate, as the opportunity to play and learn from someone of Richardís quality doesnít come up that often.

Ben Rich
